It's a Winner! Prosperitas 2016 Coonawarra Shiraz

I can’t go past a red wine in winter and my drop of choice would have to be an Aussie Shiraz. A few of my favorite Australian regions for Shiraz include the world-renowned McLaren Vale, prestigious Barossa Valley, and most recently Coonawarra a region known for its terra Rossa soil which makes it superb for producing red wine.

Prosperitas wines are located in the Coonawarra region and create a collection of award-winning wines, mainly red. I recently got my hands on a few bottles of its 2016 Coonawarra Shiraz which I just couldn’t put down and for good reason. Recently taking out several awards including Gold at 2020 Wine Orbit, Silver at 2020 Huon Hooke, and Top Value 2020 The Real Review, it seems my palate for premium wines is on point.

The Prosperitas 2016 Coonawarra Shiraz displays a rich medium body with excellent fruit characteristics from a warmer October and November, which give this wine its outstanding color, tannins, and complexity. The wine was then aged in French and American Hogsheads for 20 months.

What I enjoyed most about this wine was its medium body which makes it suited to drinking year-round. In terms of flavour, it boasts fresh, zesty red fruit and the right balance of tannins and acidity. A great drop to enjoy with friends around a cheese platter or an afternoon barbeque – red meats of course!

Prosperitas 2016 Coonawarra Shiraz RRP AUD 27. For a limited time enjoy 40% off this wine and free delivery (AUD 16 and AUD 96 for a case of six bottles). Only available at the Prosperitas Wines website.
