Review: Gucci Mémoire d’une Odeur
One of the most hyped fragrances this season would be without a doubt the latest scent from Gucci Mémoire d’une Odeur. The fragrance which was launched early September is the brands first genderless fragrance which has been created with both men and women in mind. Now if you’re anything like me you might be scratching your head thinking ‘how’s this going to work?’ Well, in my opinion, Gucci has made it happen with this Mineral Aromatic scent.
Name: Gucci Mémoire d’une Odeur
Fragrance Notes: Roman chamomile, Indian Coral, Jasmine petals, musks, sandalwood, cedarwood and vanilla
Described as: airy, musky, transparent and authentic. The hero note is Roman chamomile which gives the scents is green aromatic characteristic. The scent then combines sweet notes with Indian coral Jasmine which gives it its freshness. Once the scent dries down you get a subtle sweetness followed by musky and woody notes. While this fragrance may sound intense, it’s beautifully light and refreshing, without being too feminine or masculine – it cannot be categorised.
Wear it: Day or night. I enjoyed wearing this scent during the day on my recent Euro trip in September when the weather was still warm. I would describe this scent as casual and pairs perfectly with jeans and a white tee – think resort-style in a tropical destination.
The verdict: What I enjoy most about this scent is its unique blend of notes which smell, unlike any fragrance I've experienced. This scent will be enjoyed by women and men who aren’t afraid to showcase all the different aspects of their personality. A great scent for spring and summer - I know what I'm packing for my upcoming trip to Bali!
