What's Your Sparkling Occasion?
What’s your sparkling wine occasion? I enjoy nothing more than popping a bottle a when I’m entertaining at home and there’s a cheese platter involved. When it comes to choosing a bottle of Australian sparkling, I can’t go past the Yarra Valley region known for its cool climate, fine textured wines which are high in natural, refreshing acidity.
This couldn’t be more accurate than with De Bortoli Wines La Boheme Cuvee Blanc, which is described as aromatic, textural and sophisticated drop easy to pair with food. Blending chardonnay and pinot noir grapes, the fruit is gently pressed to extract the most delicate juice. From here the juice is fermented in both tanks and casks to enhance the mineral and savoury nuances of the wine. La Boheme Cuvee features a pale colour with a green tinge. It features notes of Citrus, hazelnuts, brioche, complex and lifted aromas. This sparkling wine is best enjoyed with an antipasto platter of cured meats, cheese, salami or cured salmon.
De Bortoli Wines La Boheme Cuvee AUD 21.95. Available online from the De Bortoli Wines website along with leading wine retailers nationally.
