Review: Givenchy Gentleman Paris Eau de Parfum
Givenchy has always been a fragrance house which I’ve seen as being quite traditional when it comes to men's fragrances. Over the years the brand has started to introduce limited editions to its iconic scents such as Gentleman which have catered to a younger and more modern gent. In 2017, the brand reinvented its much-loved classic Gentleman with a stylish twist and this year it’s taking it one step further with Gentleman Eau De Parfum, an alluring fragrance said to be as mysterious as nightfall.
Fragrance Name: Givenchy Gentleman Paris Eau de Parfum
Notes: Iris Pallida, patchouli, black pepper, black vanilla, Tolu Balms
Described as: A distinctly unique fragrance for the man who is seductive, charismatic and captivates. This tailor-made scent bursts with powerful Iris Pallida giving it its intense floral sweetness and lightly powdery aroma. These notes are then complemented by patchouli to add freshness and the heat of black pepper which adds a spicy dimension. At its base, the warmth of vanilla dominates allowing the scent to keep its sensual sweetness.
Wear it: This fragrance has been created for the gentleman of the evening and has been designed with the intention of replicating the intrigue of the night. Wear this scent in Autumn and Winter when you’re heading out for dinner and drinks or visiting a trendy bar. This scent can be dressed up or down.
Price: Givenchy Gentleman Eau de Parfum 100ml $147. Available now from Myer and David Jones department stores, along with leading fragrance retailers.
The verdict: Over the years I’ve been incredibly impressed with the limited editions in the Gentleman collections, but this Eau de parfum is one of my favourites. I would describe this scent as well balanced and ticks a lot of boxes. It’s sweet without being overpowering; it has the right amount of spice, it’s long wearing and most importantly, stylish. I’m a massive fan of Eau de parfum scents for men because of their longevity and this one lasts! Givenchy Gentleman Eau de parfum has raised the bar in men’s fragrances this season and it’s going to take quite a bit to surpass.
