Review: Yves Saint Laurent Mon Paris Eau de Toilette
No one does a love story quite like Yves Saint Laurent and the latest scent for women is described as an intense love affair, sweeping its wearer off her feet and getting enveloped in love. Introducing Mon Paris eau de toilette, an exploration of vertiginous love for the young at heart.
Name: Yves Saint Laurent Mon Paris Eau De Toilette
Fragrance notes: Top: Bergamot, raspberry, blackberry Middle: jasmine absolute, tuberose peony flowers, orange blossom Base: Datura flower, patchouli, white musk, ambrox
Described as: This edition of Mon Paris is described as a white chypre which is light and airy. This intoxicating scent opens with the zesty notes of bergamot and berries, before its heart blossoms with sensual jasmine, peony flowers and orange blossom. Once the fragrance begins to settle it unveils its woody base of ambrox and patchouli, while white musk adds a beautiful sensual element to this mesmerising scent. I enjoyed the use of the Datura flower which is an incredibly poisonous bloom which adds an intoxicating floral depth.
Wear it: This scent is modern, casual and well suited to daytime wear. The florals in Mon Paris shine through making it suited for wear during most months. Wear it to a casual lunch with friends and any stylish social event in your calendar.
Price: Yves Saint Laurent Mon Paris Eau de Toilette 50ml RRP 136 AUD. Available from Myer, David Jones and leading fragrance retailers nationally.
The verdict: Compared to the original Mon Paris, this edition is a lighter interpretation which stays true to the original with its intoxicating blend of florals and modern femininity. The eau de toilette edition is more versatile when compared to the original and can be worn during summer where the original may be a little too powerful. Mon Paris is an excellent perfume choice for the modern woman who is feminine, stylish and enjoys a whimsical floral fragrance.
