Medical Grade Eyes Bounce Back
Our eyes get the most airtime when it comes to communicating with people and unfortunately can be the telltale to our age depending on their appearance. As we get older, the area under our eyes tend to get darker; bags may form, wrinkles appear more pronounced and even sagging may occur due to lack of elasticity. Obagi Medical has developed it’s ELASTIderm Eye range to refresh and rejuvenate the appearance of the delicate skin around the eyes. The collection features three one-of-a-kind eye treatments designed for different skin types and includes an eye cream, eye gel, and eye serum. Having normal/combination, the treatment recommended for my skin is the eye gel, so I decided to give it a whirl.
Name: Obagi Medical ELASTIderm Eye Gel
What it does: This cooling eye gel has been created for those of us with normal/combination and has been developed to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and restore elasticity. It’s formulated with bi-mineral complex (Copper Zinc Malonate) which is clinically proven to help restore skins elasticity and support collagen production. ELASTIderm Eye Gel also features an Obagi trademarked technology called ‘Penetrating Therapeutics’ which optimises the delivery of ingredients to the skin ensuring higher efficiency of the bi-mineral complex.
Results: I’ve been using this product for a few weeks now and I'm really enjoying it. I tend to steer away from gel type eye creams as in the past I’ve experienced shine under the eye and other products which have created a light shiny film. I can safely say this product is nothing like that. The gel instantly cools when applied and is absorbed by the skin quickly. Within a few days of use, I noticed a reduction in darkness under my eyes (even though this product doesn’t claim to reduce dark circles) and the eye area seemed well hydrated. Usually, by midday in the office, I tend to notice fine lines around my eyes and I put this down to my air-conditioned environment. While using ELASTIderm, I noticed these lines were less noticeable throughout the day which indicates optimal hydration.
Regarding elasticity I did notice slightly more plump skin around the eye area which I thought was interesting – I’d be interested to see how these results progress over the next few weeks. The eye gel is packaged in a convenient and hygienic pump bottle which makes it a pleasure to use. I would recommend this product to anyone concerned with lines and wrinkles around the eye or looking for a new eye gel for the warmer months of the year.
How to use: Apply after cleansing skin in the morning and evening. Place dots around the eye area and smooth in until thoroughly absorbed. Avoid contact with eyes.
