Bones a Treat for Adults This Halloween
Whoever said Halloween was just for kids hadn’t discovered Halloween themed wine. While the kids are out trick or treating, take a load off and pour yourself a glass of spookily good wine by Bare//Bones.
Produced in the Coonawarra region known for its intense, rich reds, this Cabernet Sauvignon showcases some of the areas much-loved qualities. Featuring aromas of plum and berry on the nose followed by flavours of black cherry, this bold red is well-balanced and full-bodied.
So what makes it Halloween worthy you ask? Apart from its intense, rich red colour (you get where I’m going with this), the bottle features an impressive skull design label that glows in the dark, to reveal a creepy skull staring back at you. Spooky right?
Now you might be thinking it’s all smoke and mirrors with this wine, but it’s actually excellent. I’m a fan of bold reds and this one delivered with its complexity and well-balanced flavours. I decanted my bottle and would recommend doing so to aerate the wine. Being the caring person I am, I also shared a glass or two with my sister who predominately enjoys white wine, and she too agreed that this red was delicious and very pleasant to drink. We’ll be purchasing this wine again – it’s a winner all around.
