Review: Michael Kors Extreme Night
When I travel especially to a new city, I enjoy exploring during the day, but nothing excites me more than the contrast I see at night. An excellent example of this is New York City. During the day it’s all about business and on weekends relaxed New Yorkers taking in their beloved city. At night the city comes alive with buzzing bars and restaurants - there's something happening on every corner! Taking inspiration from great cities after dark, Michael Kors has created a fragrance with captures the energy and edge of these destinations with its latest scent Michael Kors Extreme Night.
Fragrance Name: Michael Kors Extreme Night
Notes: Black pepper, nutmeg, cypress, clary sage, orris, tonka bean and sandalwood
Described as: A woody oriental fragrance which is bold, masculine, sophisticated, and is well suited to the man on the move. The scent opens with a spicy punch of black pepper and nutmeg, followed by aromatic clary sage. It then settles on the skin with a pleasant warmth, but when compared to other scents with Tonka Bean at the base, this scent is quite subtle and has a delicate sweetness.
Wear it: If you haven’t guessed it, this scent is well suited to evening wear particularly in Spring when the nights are still fresh. A great scent for a night out on the town such as a refined dinner or a swanky city bar.
Price: Michael Kors Extreme Night 120ml Eau De Toilette $120. Available now from selected Myer, David Jones, Sephora and selected Pharmacies.
The verdict: This modern scent has just the right amount of spice to make it suited for the warmer months without being overpowering. Michael Kors Extreme Night will be the choice of a gentleman in his mid-twenties who has a refined, fashion-forward look. I would say the aromatics in this scent are a standout and had the tonka bean note been slightly more intense I believe this fragrance would last longer on the skin. I found Michael Kors Extreme Night lasted for about 2 hours of my skin and I needed to reapply; however, I do like my scents on the stronger and intense side. The bottle is eye catching, and the splash of blue in the bottle is meant to resemble the reflection on a wet pavement which I thought was a cool concept. The fragrances cap also has a premium matte look with a rubber feel which is edgy and compliments the fragrances attitude.
