Review: Bottega Veneta Pour Homme Eau De Parfum
A few years ago I featured a review on the fragrance Bottega Veneta Pour Homme, and I remember at the time, I was completely mesmerized by this scent – it was unlike anything I had experienced in quite some time. Almost two years on, Bottega Veneta has once again captured my attention with the release of an Eau De Parfum edition of its signature scent, which is richer, deeper and more masculine than ever which is a must-have for Autumn/Winter 2017.
Fragrance name: Bottega Veneta Pour Homme Eau De Parfum
Notes: Cedar leaves, cardamom, pimento, fir balsam, sensual leather accord and tonka bean
Described as: A bolder interpretation of the original Bottega Veneta Pour Homme fragrance. Inspired by a journey through Italy’s Veneto region, the aroma is filled with aromatic woody notes combined with leather accords – after all, isn’t Italy known for its leather craftsmanship? The result is a sophisticated, intense and masculine fragrance which is luxurious and timeless much like the gentleman who would wear this fragrance.
Wear it: There’s something very refined about this fragrance and in the cooler months would pair perfectly with formal occasions which require a suit. During the day my recommendation would be less is more. I would wear this scent to the office, evening events which require you to stand out in a crowd or a grown up dinner. Definitely a scent which should be paired with a shirt!
Price: Bottega Veneta Pour Homme Eau De Parfum 90ml $175. Available from selected Myer and David Jones department stores nationally.
The verdict: I couldn’t be more excited to discover a stronger edition of this fragrance was released. It reminds me slightly of Tom Ford’s Private Collection Italian Cypress slightly but then develops into its own unique signature. There’s something very yesteryear about this fragrance which I love which I would suspect is the combination of woody accords paired with leather at its base. What I will say is this fragrance isn’t for anyone. I know if the 20 year old me tried it I probably wouldn’t have bought it. It’s a scent for the refined gentleman who knows himself and appreciates the finer things in life.
